Fliteboard - What is going on after the Brunswick acquisition?

It is what it is. By now you have enough successful eFoil brands sich like Lift, Audi Aeroffoils, Waydoo and more to chose from. The company with the best marketing does not always have the best product.

Interesting how my post from December 2024 developed.

While everything started with some stupid AI generated content (thanks for the admins to delete this part) it turned into a valuable discussion.

My original question was if Fliteboard is changing after the Brunswick acquisition. It seems it does.

I also noticed something new while watching the Fliteboard Series 5 video below.

In the past the team around founder David Trewern was full of passion. I don’t feel this passion and the positive vibes anymore. The employees are reading from teleprompters and look at Hudson. I think he was one of the first employees. He looks very sad.

Very sad indeed
It must be difficult to watch someone take your baby and make it a monster
I think Hudson is probably one of the few remaining ones that Brunswick has kept on.
The AI post was very spot on in my opinion
And nearly everything is ai checked and formatted today
I reckon you could even get foil rival from it !
David is the impossible dreams visionary who has the uncanny ability to make dreams come true.
Needs to be challenged daily, solutions are his forte, and knowing when to let go,
Rest assured, I’m sure we’ll here another brilliant plan soon, he reminds me of a Mick Doohan, and go motorcycle racers, they talk low they talk slow and they are wired for racing,
Cheers and what a team it was in the day
Well done
Thanks for the ride
I’m glad to be able to say, I was there to see it unfold. as it now unravels

Co-founder or at least early employee Andrew Trewern (brother of David) just posted a long article on LinkedIn:

It is a long read, but I think you can feel the frustration about the Brunswick acquisition and where Fliteboard may go …

Some quotes:

> It’s easy in a commercial world, with targets, and daily priorities to lose sight of this. Focus often shifts toward scale, profit, and "engineering efficiency" as the new buzz word. It’s easy for the focus to forget what got Fliteboard this far. Fingers then cross, the brand isn’t then just stamped at the end of prized cattle. Ironically, this is exactly where branding first came to prominence in USA, around the time Brunswick formed.

With the recent L.A. fires — I wondered how Fliteboard’s new USA owners of 14,500 staff, and their US growth ambitions would respond? — where was the support for our L.A partners, friends and communities? Community was at the heart of our brand values not too long ago. Something now was very different.

Look at Nick Leason (CEO of Lift Foils) in comparison. Pure passion!

Im wondering if the Brunswick CEO can foil at all

Chris Reynolds
As as you know Dropping a reseller only Days after promising to support them in writing and face to face meeting,
After a reseller has invested heavily in promotion has placed new orders,
You say it’s been on the cards for years!??
Really ? so that’s ok to dump them and punitively damage them.
That’s how we roll?
That’s definitely deluded
Are you the sweep it under the rug guy ?
3 sides to every story unfortunately
The beginning of the end
Your fabrication is woeful and full of gaping holes

Has anyone experienced the updating issues from fliteboard? ive had a few boards go into this update mode. i thought it was something I was doing but what I see from this forum many people are struggiling with this. Maybe some software issue from flite.

Seems Fliteboard has some issues with their new conical wings …

Funny post on Instagram. You are not alone, Elon

I agree that it’s going downhill but it’s still 100% better than Lift. I just tried to order a stand from Lift and it was a complete shit-show.
Not to mention the Flite products are so much better.

WTF. I was looking for a Fliteboard reseller in Germany and went to the dealer locator on the Fliteboard website. Half of the dots in Germany belong to eFoil Riders, there so called “Platinum Partner”.

I drove about 60 km to Höxter and this is what I found:

A shame on Fliteboard and eFoil Riders.

Fliteboard sales is dropping?

How can it be that a premium efoil manufacturer has a sales promotion for 4 weeks in high season?
