Aquamarine batteries on planes?

I am copying this here from another thread:

I have another one. I am preparing a review.

could you find out if Aquamarine battery is allowed on the planes? The size of the battery is very small inside the white box.

I bought from chinese aliexpress middle man, i am not sure if they know the answer. I asked them too.

thank you

According to the Federal Aviation Administration of the US:

  • Lithium ion (rechargeable) batteries are limited to a rating of 100 watt hours (Wh) per battery.

(@skiagua mentioned in the past that Scubajet is using two 100 Wh batteries to overcome this)

According to the Aquamarine website:

  • LG Lithium Ion cells, 12.6V, 31.2 Ah

Do the math:

  • Formula is (mAh)*(V)/1000 = (Wh)
  • 31,200 * 12.6 = 393 Wh

The answer is:

  • No, unfortunately not allowed to carry it on airplanes, unless you ask for special permission :sleepy::sob:

That’s too bad :disappointed_relieved:
