I belive shipped from Oakland ca area
XF: It’s shipped from Fremont, CA where it is QA and final assembled in USA.
Not the new stabilized version
XF: Stabilized version is not available for public view yet. The working prototype outperforms any fixed wing design by far.
I have had two other brands of board before
Wing came as s 160? Seems big to me
XF: Wings/Tail comes with 1600 wing and 220 tail. It’s big made for beginners. There are other sizes…
But still needs min 40% power to fly and I’m only 172 lbs
XF: You only need 33% Thrust to fly on the 1600 wing at 172 lbs.
Lots of vibrations and loudest I have ever heard
Prop sometimes hits the guard
“XF” Bad prop. Did you hit something? Get our new high performance prop or toriodal. Smooth as silk!
About 80% the motor shuts down
XF: That’s not how it works. If you’re getting vibration from a bad prop, it may be false triggering the safety. The board has a safety angle shutoff. Turn off the safety from the remote and try it to rule it out.
Battery may last 20 min
XF: The battery that comes with your kit is the smallest capacity battery. Long Range and Performance long range are available. 20min seems low unless you’re falling and bogging the motor. With practice like any efoil you’ll learn to ride more efficiently.
If over 50% power battery guage goes to almost zero
Temp is 140 think that’s max scale
XF: You’re bogging the board or motor. All the power in the world will not get your board to move if it’s under water. Make sure the board is planing. Watch the tutorial videos.
Motor wouldn’t fit into mast had to cut modding to get it to barley fit
XF: This makes no sense. There’s no molding to cut away… Motor slips right in with 2 screws. Easy.
Second controller would not turn on will not charge looks like not sealed
XF: Sometimes it’s the charging cable. There’s a simple video fix for that we can send you.
Battery compartment lid dosnt fit easly into board
Have to add silicon lub to get it to fit and use fist to pound on it to fit
XF: It’s a military spec triple redunduncy hatch. Don’t pound it, press it in gently like the instructions say to do.
One Battery terminal buttons faces back side so hard to get to
XF: That’s improved in XFoil 2
One battery compartment latch dosnt tighten well
XF: Latch can be adjusted.
If want to rma stuff you have to pay for shipping was $500 to get it shipped to me
So don’t want to spend another $1,000 for them to look at it all
XF: 99% of known issues can be self remedied with video and support from our team.
Especially since they sent out defective parts in the first place
XF: Every XFoil goes through multi-point inspection prior to shipment from Silicon Valley, CA. We do not ship defective goods.
Have spent weeks trying to get parts to fit
XF: Please read the user manual and watch the detailed videos.
With late and little help from company
XF: We have phone support M-F 8am-5pm, support tickets, scheduled call backs for support.
Questions I keep asking go unanswered
Nobody answers the phone
XF: Phones are answered M-F 8am-5pm. You can leave an VM or schedule a call back.
Only email responses and nobody works the weekend there Aperantly
XF: Phones are answered M-F 8am-5pm.
Had great hopes when ordered
Tried to trade in standered battery for extended battery
But wasn’t allowed
can’t afford a
XF: Not if a battery is already used…
Nother $2000 battery but would be nice since 20 min ride is very short
Most other boards will go 45 min with standered battery
Still hoping they will come through and fix all the problems
XF: XFoil 2 is redesigned and significantly improved. It’s the best board by far.
Seems like quality control is bad design is bad
Board says never remove prop guard but they suggest doing so
XF: Use the new XF2 prop and prop gaurd. It’s significantly improved.
All my other boards run fine with prop guards installed
So guessing testing or design is bad
Screen on hand controller is very small
XF: It’s designed to be small and light. It’s the smallest hand controller on the market.
Maybe I was just send defective parts
One would hope parts would be checked to work and fit before shipping
But not in my case
XF: Each concern item, please work with customer service. Also keep in mind with any new craft there is a learning curve.
